Do I really have to have a bio with at least 2 complete paragraphs for both personality and looks? Do I need to have at least 4 paragraphs for history?

I know bios can be gruesome work, but it helps you to know your character. In short it is demanded and we will not view bios that do not fit these criteria.

Can I have speech in my sample post?

No, we want to see how well you write when there isn’t anyone to speak. Much like in the beginning of thread..

Can I include information from Books 6 and 7 in this RPG?

No, we are canon up to book 5; this RPG was created a year before HBP was published and therefore we do not acknowledge HPB or DH.

How come there are elements from Book 6 in this RPG, like Fenrir giving Remus the bite and Snape being the Half-Blood Prince?

These were elements that happened in the past and they are only here to give the characters of Snape and Remus more depth and further help the writers to understand their characters.

Can I be the long lost daughter or son of Snape/Draco/Remus/Harry/Ron/Hermione/Ginny?

If the character already has children then no, unless we think there should be a sibling, or the person playing the family members have agreed. If no child exists, I suggest asking an admin first before submitting a bio.

Can I apply for two characters at once?

No, we want to be able to focus our attention on one character at a time.

Can I play siblings of a canon character?

No, No, No. It’s simple: it means if you have two important characters and if you leave we have two characters to fill. Also it will prohibit you from having conversations with yourself. You are here to RPG with someone else, not just your own characters. It’s more fun that way for all.

May I play a werewolf, vampire, centaur, minotaur, faerie, elf, etc.?

The only ones in JKR’s world are werewolf, vampire, centaur (though they don’t go to Hogwarts), house elves (not the ones in Lord of the Rings), goblins, and veela. Since they are limited in the world, you can… BUT your bio needs to be extraordinary. Meaning it is lengthy, detailed, and near perfect. For this I request you look at the lengthy and explicit bio of Severus Snape. For most others I suggest playing a regular teacher, student, or another adult within the wizarding world.

Is my character allowed to have special powers?

Your character can have the ability to Apparate (if of age), or be well-versed in a particular subject, but your character cannot have the ability to summon creatures, communicate with animals or trees, control the weather, etc. If it’s not in Harry Potter, it’s not here.
